MCL-T whole-body solid SAM phantom

MCL-T offers solid SAM body phantoms for applications - such as radio radiation pattern testing - where a liquid-filled phantom is not necessary.

The advantages of a solid body are:

The MCL-T solid whole-body phantom is based on the same dataset of human dimensions that was used to construct the SAM head. It is available in either standing or seated configurations or as part-body,e'g a torso or head-and-torso. The body is usually made in sections - each body is made to a customer's specific requirements.

The MCL-T solid bodies are made from carbon-loaded silicone rubber with dielectric properties that match tissues over a wide range. More information on the development of this material is given here.

A CAD file describing the phantom's shape is also available, and this can be imported into computational models.

The solid body phantoms can be made to the shape of either the inner or outer surfaces of the standard SAM shell body phantoms. If an inner head shape is used, then a small section of SAM headshell can be supplied to provide the ear (pinna) spacing and the reference positioning lines.
